Comp Cams recommends that if a steel gear cam has been run with a bronze distributor gear that a new bronze gear be used from then on. Substituting a melonized gear after a significant wear pattern has been established may result in severe gear wear to both the cam and distributor gear. Now the shift recovery from 3-4 in the M21 is same as 1-2, 2-3, while the 3-4 shift in the M20 is a little bit larger step at .675 (m20) vs the .781 for the M21. However, with the same charge of AR-Comp I get about 2480. This is a guess because my chrono went screwy at 41.5, but with each .5 increment increase I got about a 40-50 fps increase. So AR-Comp even gives me a much needed velocity boost. My chosen charge is 41.5 grains.Like.
